Easter

Yay!!!! Ming Han and Ya Lun got baptized on Saturday!!!! It was so awesome!! I love those two so much. They seriously feel like my younger brothers. Ming Han is such a stud too. When we taught him about missionary work and how he can serve a mission he told us that he wants to! Then after the baptism he even told him mom that he wants to serve. He is so awesome. Elder Hsu had him write down his feelings about baptism and stuff and he wrote about how much he loved it and how one day after we taught him the Word of Wisdom, his friends wanted him to go with them to go smoke. Now, there are two problems with this. 1)they are smoking 2)they are 14 wow. but Ming Han told them no and he even talked them out of smoking. He later invited his friends to his baptism! Man, he is a beast!!! I really hope we can help their parents get baptized. Ming Han and his siblings can really have a big impact on that. Pray that it can happen!!

We had a huge miracle happen this week. We were doing our weekly planning and discussing about how we can get this ward more into doing and helping us with the missionary work and then a member texted us telling us that she is with someone that wants to be baptized this weekend. She is a former and had everything including a baptismal interview, but after the interview things happened and she disappeared for a while. Well, she's back and she wants to be baptized! She is so willing to do everything that she needs to do because she wants to change her life so bad. She accepted a goal for the 23rd of April, but it might even get bumped up!

On Thursday, I got to go on exchanges with Elder Johnson. It was so much fun! Exchanges are the best!! I really got to learn a lot from him and hopefully he learned a thing or two from me! But after we switched back, me and Elder Hsu were biking home and I swear, every single golden person was on the road that night. It was amazing. The Lord really does bless His missionaries.

Well that's about it. I hope you all had an amazing Easter. Easter is a great time to remember the Savior and His Atonement. I am so grateful that we have the chance to be forgiven daily for all of our mistakes. I know that through Jesus Christ's Atonement we can all change. I have done it myself. No matter who you are or what you have done, the Lord can help your life become happier and better.
I love you all so much. Thank you for all the prayers and support!

Miracles

Well here is something cool that happened last week! So I forgot to buy some eggs during Pday so at night we went to the store to grab some real quick and this lady asked us to help her grab something so we did. Then we started talking to her and turns out she used to go to school at Weber State! YAAAAAA! She is a super devout catholic but she really seemed interested in meeting with us! So far we haven't set her up but that's because she is out of town. But still, super cool!

This Saturday we are going to have 2 baptisms!!!!!!!!! Ming Han and Ya Lun passed their baptismal interview yesterday and their dad signed the paper so it's all good! They are so cool. Ming Han is 14 and his brother Ya Lun is 9. They are the ones from that part member family we have been teaching. These two are so willing to follow Jesus Christ. They both used to loooove drinking tea (like every other Asian) and after we taught them the Word of Wisdom they haven't had one sip of tea. Amazing. They read and pray all the time and they even pray together! I am so excited for them to get baptized. I really hope we can help their parents get baptized too so that they can be sealed as a family! their two daughters are already members so now we just gotta get the parents!!

Another cool thing, our new district leader loves the Colorado Rockies so that is awesome. I have literally met more Rockies fan in Taiwan than I ever met in America. Maybe I should just move here.
Anyways, yesterday at church we had a new investigator show up with his two children. We haven't met with this guy yet so we haven't been able to teach him anything about our church. So, the members decided to take that into their own hands. First off, let be bear testimony that having members that know how to act around investigators is sooooo important. Anyways, in the 2nd and 3rd hours of church the members taught the first and second lesson. Oh. My. Heck. It was so annoying and he was so confused. We went from spiritual and physical death, to the Book of Mormon and Nephi, to Joseph Smith, and everything else in between. Luckily, we were able to sit down with him after church and actually teach him something. He is really really interested and was really excited to have a Book of Mormon! He even accepted a baptismal date for April 30th!!
Other than that, I can't really think of anything exciting that happened this week. It has been raining a ton and it's just great!

Oh here's something funny. Me and Elder Hsu teach the lower level english class in our area and we asked all of them before class if they wanted us to use more english or more chinese. The reason we ask is because there is one student that complains to the other missionaries that we are using too much chinese and that Elder Hsu's english isn't good. (Elder Hsu has super good english) This guy thinks his english is super good... so we ask, and he yells out "ENGRISH" In my mind I was like "Yeah.... you need some help bud." We laughed about that haha.

Well that's it for this week

Love you all!!

Rain

This week it just rained all the time. Like, it poured rain all of the time. Riding bikes in the rain is just so fun! You pull up to a light to contact someone and whip out a tract and then it's already soaked and it's just awesome! Actually I gotta cool rain miracle. So we were at the library doing our facebook missionary business and we walk outside and it is just dumping rain. It's like on the Emperor's New Groove when it rains. It was so much water!! And all of our rain gear and umbrellas and such were at our bikes which were not relatively close to us. We just stood there for a while and I said a small prayer and asked God to please help us out. A few minutes later a worker walks by and was like, "Here! Use my umbrella!!" He walked us to our bikes and held the umbrella over us while we put our gear on. It was such a tender mercy from Heavenly Father. The small things like that just remind me that He really does love me.

Another cool thing this week was with our investigator, Sister Chen. We met with her last Monday and taught the first lesson about the restored gospel and Joseph Smith. She belongs to another Christian church and it was all kind of hard for her to believe. We finish the lesson and invite her to be baptized. She wasn't sure because she told us when she goes to her church she says she hears a voice in her head that says something like welcome home. I don't know. Me and Elder Hsu were like, weird.. haha. BUT we decided to help her really understand what the Spirit is and what he feels like. After we read some scriptures and talked she really understood it and accepted the invite to be baptized!  And then we followed up with her a little bit later in the week about reading and praying and she told us she hadn't been reading. But she said a cool story about prayer. She had been working out some law stuff with her divorce and it wasn't working out well so she decided to pray and she told Heavenly Father that if he would help her, then she would start reading the Book of Mormon. Yeah, everything got solved with no problem! It was so amazing!! She hasn't started reading yet, but hopefully soon!

Last thing, this week we were supposed to have 吳弟兄's baptism, but we had to change his date. It was so sad. He has so much desire to be baptized but now he thinks that he is getting into all this a little too fast. He said he was too scared to follow the Word of Wisdom because he thinks his friends and dad will make fun of him and not like him if he doesn't drink tea and smoke. So sad!! So if y'all have time in your prayers, pray that he can overcome this fear and get baptized!!!

Other than that, there wasn't much exciting stuff that happened this week. Hope you all are well and getting ready for baseball to start soon haha. The people here love baseball so it's awesome!

Love you all!!!

Yo !

Well this was a pretty good week for us here in Nantun! On Monday we went bowling (my new favorite hobby) and apparently some elders from another area were there too. It was so awesome because one of them is Elder Sam Clayson from Mapleton and he is like my best friend in the mission. It was so great. We also got to go and hit in some batting cages. If anything was to ever make me trunky it was me holding that bat while staring down a picture of Roger Clemens throwing me a 90mph fast ball and then me hitting a double to left-center. Oh man. It rocked.

Anyways, we had Zone Conference on Tuesday and that was super cool. Except our district had to sing so that wasn't too cool. But we talked about the importance of the Godhead and how it is literally pointless to continue teaching our investigators the lessons if they don't even understand their relationship with God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. And 更好 yesterday we had an amazing lesson about the Spirit! It was the best lesson of my mission so far. It was with that miracle lady from last week and we were teaching the first lesson and we finished and invited her to be baptized. She asked why she needed to be baptized again?? We talked about the Priesthood and stuff and then she brought up something really interesting. She said how she went to her church she would always here a voice in her head that would say "Welcome home child". She was 100% convinced that that was the Spirit. We were able to talk about the Spirit and the feelings it gives us and how sometimes Satan likes to trick us. Oh my heck we talked so long and she finally understood and it was just amazing and now she has a baptismal date for April 16th! One day before the 17th which so happens to be the best day of the year. haha.

Anyways, we also were able to meet with the Cai family again this week. It didn't go as well as we hoped. The dad is slowly changing though. Ever so slowly... But their two sons have been coming to church and I think they really like it. Oh man I just want them to get baptized so bad!
Next week our investigator 吳弟兄 should be getting baptized!! Except on Wednesday he expressed a lot of concerns. I think it was just stress from his huge test that he just had. But he is so golden and really has a desire. Just pray that he can overcome his concerns and that we can help him!

Other than that, not much exciting happened. It's getting warmer and it's about in the high 70's and people are still wearing jackets because "they don't want to get sick". Classic.

Hope all is well back in the State and wherever you all are. Love you all!!

Me and Elder Clayson (Middle) and Elder Thomas!

A closer look tells you why it is called the Death Star. yes, that is a Storm Trooper on my basket

I figured y'all would wanna see my sick bike. I call it the Death Star. Hate all you want on the basket I don't care haha. It's the greatest thing ever and it is so convenient. Only the cool elders in our mission have baskets. So like 4 elders haha
Also I ran into this sister. Guess who helped her get baptized? My oldest sister Kelsi. And then when my other sister Marissa was on her mission they ended up being companions. #goteam

Temple Trip

Well, Not much has happened since Wednesday, but I will fill in the details. So on Thursday, we had a lesson with a potential investigator. To my friends on a mission, when you invite a member to help with the lesson, choose wisely... The member we brought with us LITERALLY would not let us talk and when we would talk he would talk over us. Basically we, I mean he, taught a brief overview of all of the lessons in the first visit. Yeah, we were just going to talk about prayer. Classic. I couldn't help but laugh after that meeting.

Remember the lady that told me to pull over? Well we just met with them this week and she came to church with her daughter and son. Hopefully they will progress to baptism. We will see. They have some real potential.

Speaking of church, we had 7 investigators show up to church yesterday! That was so amazing. We have another family that we are working with, the Cai family. They are a part member family. The two daughters are members and they brought their two brothers to church! We have been meeting with them and I really think they will get baptized. The brothers have a date set up, but I am not sure if they really understand it. That will come with time. The mom was just smiling the whole time we were there so I really hope that is a good sign. They say their dad is really mean to them but they said since we have started to meet with them, he has softened up a lot. So pray that they can all get baptized!!

Other than that, not much has happened.

I love you all!!!!
