Well this week was a pretty average week in terms of
lessons. We got our pigeons placed a few times and some of our investigators
are out of town so that is always rough. But it was still a good week!
A miracle came on Monday while we were doing calls. A few
weeks ago we were eating some 冰 and a guy came and sat by us and told us that he knows
about our church and stuff. So we talked with him for a bit. He was pretty
interesting but pretty cool too. He gave us his number and he left. Then while
we were doing calls, he called us and said he was at the church and he wants us
to go too. So we biked super fast over there and this guy was there with his
brother and told us to give them a Book of Mormon. We were like,
"Ok!" haha. But we shared about the Book of Mormon and taught a short
lesson with them. They were pretty cool and hopefully we can really help them
get progressing.
We met with one of our investigators 楊志恆 this week. He has a
baptismal goal for July 16th. He is super cool and really gets everything we
teach. We taught him the third lesson and at the end we asked him how he thinks
this applies to him. He used every point we taught(faith, repentance, baptism,
gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end) and told us how that will all
help his life. Super cool. We are a little worried that his mom might oppose
him coming to church and stuff so hopefully she won't be a problem..
This weekend we had stake conference. It was probably the
best stake conference I have ever been too. President and Sister Blickenstaff
were there along with the Taibei Temple President and his wife and Elder Wong
from the Seventy. Super stack stake conference. Elder Wong really stressed the
importance of the Sabbath Day. That is something that the people here struggle
with. Church attendance hasn't been going up for the past few years He
basically got in our faces about what we need to do on the Sabbath, but it was
with love and humor. He is awesome. I really thought about how I used to keep
the Sabbath Day holy. Obviously now, it's good. But before I just took the
Sabbath as a day to chill, go to church, do nothing. Yeah. I realized that
those things (except church) never really helped me grow closer to my Savior. I
really hope all of you are using the time you have on Sunday wisely. I have
realized how important the Sabbath Day really is.
Other than that, not much else happened this week. We just
had lots of contacting and calls that we did. We were able to meet some pretty
cool people on the streets so hopefully they will have interest in the church!!
